(First crochet pattern I bothered to write down, so bear with me.)

Materials:
Red Heart Super Saver Yarn in Spring Green, White, Black, Red, and Pink
Size H crochet hook
Yarn needle
Fiberfill

Abbreviations:
Sl st: Slip stitch
St: Stitch
Ch: Chain
Sc: Single Crochet
Hdc: Half Double Crochet
Dc: Double crochet
Inc: Increase
Tgt: Together (decrease)

Main Body:
Start with green; don’t join stitches at end of rounds, continue crocheting around, amigurumi-style.
Round 1: 5 sc into magic loop (5 sts)
Round 2: (2 sc inc) around (10 sts)
Round 3: Sc around (10 sts)
Round 4: (2 sc inc, 1 sc) around (15 sts)
Round 5: Sc around (15 sts)
Round 6: (2 sc inc, 2 sc) around (20 sts)
Round 7: Sc around (20 sts)
Round 8: (2 sc inc, 3 sc) around (25 sts)
Round 9: Sc around (25 sts)
Round 10: (2 sc inc, 4 sc) around (30 sts)
Round 11: Sc around (30 sts)
Round 12: (2 sc inc, 5 sc) around (35 sts)
Round 13: Sc around (35 sts)
Round 14: (2 sc inc, 6 sc) around (40 sts)
Round 15: Sc around (40 sts)
Round 16: (2 sc inc, 7 sc) around (45 sts)
Round 17: Sc around (45 sts)
Round 18: (2 sc inc, 8 sc) around (50 sts)
Round 19: Sc around (50 sts)
Round 20: (2 sc inc, 9 sc) around (55 sts)
Round 21: Sc around (55 sts)

SWITCH TO WHITE
Rounds 36-39: Dc around (90 sts)
Finishing: 3 hdcs, 3 scs, 3 sl sts. End off, weave in end.

Brain:
Note: Leave long tail for wrapping/sewing at the beginning
Don’t join stitches at ends of rounds; continue crocheting around, amigurumi-style.
Round 1: Ch 2, 6 sc in second st from hook (6 sts)
Round 2: 2 sc inc in each st (12 sts)
Round 3: (2 sc inc, 1 sc) around (18 sts)
Round 4: (2 sc inc, 2 sc) around (24 sts)
Round 5: (2 sc inc, 3 sc) around (30 sts)
Round 6-7: Sc around (30 sts)
Round 8: (2 tgt, 3 sc) around (24 sts)
Round 9: (2 tgt, 2 sc) around (18 sts)
Round 10: (2 tgt, 1 sc) around (12 sts)
Stuff with fiberfill.
Round 11: (2 tgt) around (6 sts) DO NOT END OFF.
Using the long tail from the beginning, wrap around length of object and pull tight to form the two brain hemispheres. (You can mold the brain’s shape a little with your hands if need be.) Tie off tail, leaving length for sewing.
Pick up last stitch and ch 3. Sl st to any part of object. Continue to ch 3 and sl st, repeating to desired effect. End off when satisfied and weave in that end.

Dangle Eye:
Note: dangle eye is optional. If you do not want one, just make two stationary eyes.
Start with black.
Round 1: Ch 2, 6 sc in second st from hook (6 sts)
Round 2: 2 sc inc in each st (12 sts)
SWITCH TO WHITE
Round 3: (2 sc inc, 1 sc) around (18 sts)
Round 4: (2 sc inc, 2 sc) around (24 sts)
Round 5: (2 sc inc, 3 sc) around (30 sts)
Round 6-9: Sc around (30 sts)
Round 10: (2 tgt, 3 sc) around (24 sts)
Round 11: (2 tgt, 2 sc) around (18 sts)
Round 12: (2 tgt, 1 sc) around (12 sts)
Stuff with fiberfill.
Round 13: 2 tgt around (6 sts)
SWITCH TO RED
Rounds 14-18: Sc around (6 sts)
(Continue that round for a longer dangle.)
SWITCH TO BLACK.
Round 19: (2 dc inc) around (12 sts)
Round 20: (2 dc inc) around (24 sts)
Finish: 3 hdc, 3 sc, 3 sl st, end off. Leave sewing length.

Stationary Eye:
Start with black.
Round 1: Ch 2, 6 sc in second st from hook (6 sts)
Round 2: 2 sc inc in each st (12 sts)
SWITCH TO WHITE
Round 3: (2 sc inc, 1 sc) around (18 sts)
Round 4: (2 sc inc, 2 sc) around (24 sts)
Round 5: (2 sc inc, 3 sc) around (30 sts)
Round 6-7: Sc around (30 sts)
Finish off, leave sewing length

Finishing:
Sew on stationary eye/eyes with sewing length, stuffing with fiberfill as you go.
Sew on dangle eye (if applicable).
Use sewing length of brain to sew to tip of hat.
Weave in all ends.
